Job Description

Our client, a London based asset management firm is looking to hire a Senior Performance Analyst to join their team.

 

You will be responsible for data provision and analysis across all company products. The aim is to develop product knowledge in order to scientifically create, interpret and analyse existing outputs. Over time assist and provide thought leadership in the development of the PDI function to deliver sophisticated automated analysis and develop tools to assist stakeholders, using best practice technologies.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce performance data for internal and external use using Financial Express & other vendor portals, using automation, where possible.

  • Manage the workflow and sign-off of all Company (single strategy) factsheets from a performance perspective.

  • Take over relationship of signing-off segregated periodic and bespoke reports.

  • Improve and enhance processes in information gathering, analysis and dissemination.

  • Manage the process of company funds availability on external investment platforms

  • Take responsibility for fund code acquisition from external vendors.

  • Self-service of Marketing requirements.

  • RFP and Institutional Databases support

  • Assist in management of yearly GIPS verification project.

  • Creative approach to coming up with different ways to slice up risk, attribution and performance or create new, insightful analysis on funds.

  • Ability to work closely with external software providers as and when required.

  • Contribution to the development of fund analysis.

  • Production of ad-hoc reports for the business, focused on issues in the prevailing markets.

  • Respond to direct requests from investors and proactively interact with them.

  • Assist IT to develop new systems/feeds and enhance existing feeds.

  • Suggest new analytics that will be beneficial to stakeholders in the understanding of investments.

Regulatory Responsibilities

  • Take proactive steps to keep up to date with regulatory updates to ensure a detailed understanding of compliance pertinent to your work

  • Be open and transparent in the way you deal with our clients

  • Ensure that wherever possible the interests of our clients are put first

Risk Responsibilities

  • Be aware of the risks to the firm, and to its clients, of your actions and responsibilities

  • Ensure that as these risks change, or new risks arise, these changes are clearly communicated throughout the firm as appropriate

  • Manage these risks appropriately including involving your line management and the Head of Risk, as necessary.

 

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level in Maths, Physics or Financial Economics, from a Russell Group University.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar buy side role.

  • IMC and or working towards CIPM/CFA or other professional qualifications.

  • Technical skills: Quantitative skills, Advanced Excel/VBA and knowledge of Python or R or SQL beneficial.

  • Working knowledge of Financial Express, Bloomberg, UBS Delta, Factset tools, Vermilion, BISAM, Lipper, Morningstar and Data Management Tools.

  • A detailed knowledge of the products offered by the firm and the importance of being a regulated firm is expected.

  • An understanding of regulatory knowledge as it applies to this role.

  • An understanding of the rules, regulations, policies and procedures as set out in the Compliance Manual.

  • Please describe the processes that this job requires knowledge of

  • Completing RFPs and DDQs, populating and maintaining internal and external databases.

  • Experience of data performance provision and analysis, with automation.

  • Must be able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

  • Problem solving experience via automation.

  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to present detailed analysis in a clear and concise manner.

  • Knowledge of equity and multi asset investment processes and risk calibration and attribution.

  • Experience in client reporting across asset classes.

  • Communicate (orally and written) across the organisation.

  • Able to anticipate, specify and deliver to stakeholder needs – provide thought leadership.

  • Ability to influence proactively and build strong working relationships with internal clients.

  • High degree of organisation and numeracy, with attention to detail, the ability to use initiative and think laterally.

  • Knowledge of retail and institutional fund management industry and a good understanding of products and investment management.

  • Knowledge of derivatives across asset classes – pricing treatment and payoffs.

  • An appreciation (and working experience) of visualisation tools e.g. business intelligence software.

  • Awareness of strengths and weaknesses of vendor risk, attribution models across asset classes.

  • Experience of effectively collaborating with investors, risk, marketing and distribution teams.

  • Strong networking capability to seek and research best practices.
