Seeking: Senior Leadership Development Manager to join one of the world's largest professional services providers.


About The Role

The purpose of this role is to ensure the Leadership Development strategy aligns to the business growth agenda and has the right governance and infrastructure in place to enable leadership skill development through structured learning pathways. The Leadership programme should support our leaders in the skill development to take collective responsibility for great business results, strong commercial performance and exceptional client service.

In addition to UK responsibilities the role will also involve collaborating closely with global colleagues in the development and implementation of leadership development.


Key Responsibilities


  • Commercially driven: Brings deep people and firm insight, to develop the learning pathways that are right for the comapany and will create additional value for our people and our clients

  • People first: Generates a clear point of difference in our learning that reflects vibrant economy

  • Thinking Creatively – Develop and design new and innovative learning and development interventions

  • Has a diverse external network with development experts and wider business leaders to understand emerging trends, innovations and best practice

  • Act as an ambassador for the firm and seek opportunities to raise the profile of the firm as a world class global organisation

  • Has a deep understanding of the firm's vision, values and business strategy at a UK and global level and uses this as a foundation for all work

  • Collaborate globally in the implementation of critical skill development, online platform learning and technical learning.


  • Implement the overall Leadership development vision, direction and strategy which embodies self-sufficient learning and focuses on commercial excellence and quality delivery

  • Continue to develop a learning culture in the firm, which delivers best in class and stretching learning interventions, delivered in the most cost effective way to drive excellent business performance

  • Drive and facilitate leadership learning events and workshops, seeking to build adaptable skills to prepare leaders for all situations

  • Support the development of a coaching culture within the firm and ensure that coaching relationships are established for key talent within the firm at key stages in the career continuum

  • Apply excellent consulting and business development skills to understand and influence key stakeholders and the wider firm in the UK and globally

  • Ensure that the leadership agenda and all tools, processes and models are completely aligned across the UK firm and wherever possible globally

  • Coach leaders to role model great leadership with colleagues about their strengths, areas for development, career aspirations and potential

  • Establish a clear set of accountabilities for people managers, business partners and leaders in managing on-going learning

  • Participate in global learning and development initiatives to leverage the business school and raise its profile throughout the professional services sector

  • Commercialise our offering, selling it to the GT network and beyond.


  • Take responsibility for those that deliver a learning strategy that is connected, innovative, high impact, learner centric and game changing for all external and internal clients

  • Role model behaviours and skills and provides guidance and direction including setting performance expectations and monitoring the performance of the Business School and Leadership team


  • Enable the growth of the correct infrastructure through on line platforms of learning and development of supporting systems that promotes just in time learning and is cost effective

  • Ensure the correct governance is in place so that learning priorities are aligned to business goals

  • Manage budgets and priorities to ensure the teams focus their contribution on high priority, high value delivery

  • Challenge colleagues to consider talent as a firm-wide resource, rather than a local resource to ensure identified talent is exposed to an appropriately diverse set of development challenges across the firm

  • Negotiate and manages third-party contracts for the delivery of learning services, establishing reasonable costs and high standards of execution


Skills & Experience


  • Experience and passion for working in a professional services environment

  • Expert in blended learning methodologies with track record of designing and implementing multi-methodology programmes.

  • Track record which demonstrates ability to build excellent advisory relationships with senior stakeholders, manage numerous stakeholder relationships and lead and develop large team

  • A highly credible individual who has great influence and gravitas with an ability to flex style and work well with people from different disciplines and cultures

  • Strong consulting skills including effective listening, problem solving and facilitation

  • Track record of operating at a senior level, able to lead and influence direction.

  • A wide and varied external network, with the desire to bring outside-in thinking to our leaders to stretch thinking. Also able to demonstrate an exceptional existing internal network and a respect from the partner and leaders in the firm.

  • Experience of managing multiple projects at any one time, responding to changing business needs

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with the confidence and gravitas to stand up and present and represent the firm

  • Commercially driven and financially literate

  • Comfort and enjoyment of ambiguity

  • Forward thinking and driven to find innovative new ways of doing things

  • Ability to be agile, respond positively to change and contribute with a growth mind set, and an ability to hold their opinion lightly

  • Embodies integrity and the CLEARR values in their behaviours and ways of engaging others.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including a collaborative and respectful approach


  • Experience of working in professional services at a senior leadership level

  • Coaching qualification

  • CIPD qualified or equivalent
