Job Description

Senior Investment Reporting & Performance Analyst sought to join a leading financial services firm, based in London.

 

About The Role

This is a senior analyst role sitting between the operational production hub in Chennai and one of the firm’s leading UK based clients. Working on performance and investment reporting activities, the purpose of the role is for you to provide oversight and technical support on a production primarily based in Chennai as well as supporting key production tasks locally. After the production cycle the role will the switch focus to service optimisation and change management tasks for the client. The role is also provides an excellent opportunity to develop knowledge on ex-ante risk and Solvency II reporting as part of a broader based service delivery team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Working to deliver service to clients accurately and on time, thus reinforcing and building client relationship, leading to new business opportunities

  • Working to ensure operational risk is captured and addressed, securing functional capabilities

  • Support the growth of commercial relationships with clients
     

Service Delivery

  • Participate in the calculation and reporting of performance, attribution, and other portfolio structure reporting for UK client base

  • Take supervisory and oversight responsibilities for core performance and reporting production activity based in global operations centre in Chennai

  • Act as a lead contact and escalation point in the event of urgent or unresolved performance or reporting queries received from either Chennai or the client; act as the link between the two.

  • Ensure the quality and accuracy produced by Chennai based performance analysts for the activity assigned to you for oversight

  • Meet with clients as required to ensure the service delivery is of a high standard, maintaining a strong focus on timeliness and accuracy as measured by service KPIs and MI
     

Projects & Change

  • Work on client change controls aimed at developing, extending, or improving the existing service received by the client

  • Work on new activity set up and on-boarding activities

  • Define business specification documents, create test & implementation plans, support and maintain project governance documents

  • Seek to optimise end to end production under your oversight, working transversally across the business as required
     

Skills & Experience

  • Considerable experience working in performance measurement and/or client reporting function:

    • Practical understanding on market data such indices, analytics, and standard classification structures

    • Practical understanding of core performance and attribution methodologies

    • Practical understanding of ex-post risk statistics such as tracking errors, sharpe ratios, alpha, beta, volatility etc.

    • Practical experience using performance / attribution / risk calculation & reporting systems within the company

  •  

  • System / application skills:

    • Essential: Excel, Powerpoint, Word

    • Desirable but not essential: VBA, Datastream, Bloomberg, Statpro, BISAM One

    • User level knowledge of all BNP Paribas IRP production applications (new joiners to be trained)

  • Project Management / Business Analyst skills: -

    • Practical experience on boarding new activity into a production process

    • Practical experience writing business specification documents, test plans, implementation plans and governance documents

    • Strong deadline orientated approach to project delivery

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Ability to exercise good judgment in commitments made in response to client needs whilst balancing with the commercial and operational needs of the bank

 

Qualifications

Essential:

  • IAQ, IMC or relevant BA / BSc degree

 

Desirable:

  • MA / MSc, CIFA, CIPM
