Job Description

A leading professional and financial services firm is looking for an experienced HR professional to partner with the business, ensuring the ‘best fit’ people solutions meet its strategic needs as well as provide HR consultancy to the organisation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with one of the key strategic growth areas and support them through a period of change, ensuring that their people priorities are aligned in supporting them attaining their growth targets.

  • Provide insight around people issues within the business, and a challenging, robust point of view on business decisions and their impact upon people.

  • Challenge and influence the business to ensure the most appropriate course of action.

  • Anticipate issues and needs within the business/client groups and address these effectively.

  • Build and maintain influential relationships with business leaders and managers, working closely with them to co-develop solutions to meet their business needs.

  • Act as a coach to the client group leader and partner team with specific regard to managing the people aspects of their business.

  • Source the ‘best fit’ People solutions, ensuring the highest quality and best value for money for the business.

  • Ensure that the strategic people imperatives are met e.g. talent management, performance management.

  • Act as an agent for change, ensuring organisational design/development solutions drive business transformation and change.  

  • Ensure the business uses a D&I lens on all people initiatives.


Skills & Experience

  • Making a significant contribution to business decision making, strategic planning discussions and operational aspects of the people agenda.

  • Demonstrable ability to apply judgement and influence challenging individuals and deal with complex situations.

  • Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR practices that has been honed through practical application.

  • Resilient, practical and a self-starter; comfortable with working on own and in teams.

  • Strong presentation and project management skills.

  • Ability to combine a commercial and pragmatic approach with a high level of sensitivity and discretion.

  • Ability to effectively manage, counsel, coach and develop others

  • Capable of working with several senior stakeholders and managing the balance between their requirements and business imperatives in a robust and assertive way.

  • Professionally qualified.  A postgraduate qualification in a Business or Human Resource discipline is desirable; CIPD qualified desirable.
