The Financial Services (FS) Talent team designs and delivers the Talent Strategy to over 4,000 people across the UK.

 

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be an effective Senior HR Business Partner with FSO (Financial Services Office) UK Assurance, ensuring the ‘best fit’ people solutions to meet its strategic needs. You will provide HR consultancy to the line and make a meaningful contribution to the development and implementation of the people strategy for FSO UK Assurance, as well as to the broader FS sub area people agenda.  You will also act as an agent for change, ensuring organisational design/development solutions drive business transformation and change and provide insight around people issues within the business, and a challenging, robust point of view on business decisions and their impact upon people.

 

Key Responsibilities

In addition to the above, you will anticipate issues and needs within the business/client groups and addresses these effectively and challenge and influence the business to ensure the most appropriate course of action.  To do this you will build and maintain influential relationships with business leaders and managers, working closely with them to co-develop solutions to meet their business needs.

You will source the ‘best fit’ People solutions, ensuring the highest quality and best value for money for the business and act as a coach to the client group leader and partner team with specific regard to managing the people aspects of their business.  This will ensure that the sub area strategic people imperatives are met within FSO UK Assurance e.g. talent management, performance management.

You will sit as part of the wider talent team and you will establish effective relationships with members of the technical and enterprise wide L&D and D&I teams.  This will also give you the opportunity to contribute to cross service line or firm wide projects to support the FSO People agenda.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable ability to apply judgement and influence challenging individuals and deal with complex situations.

  • Resilient, practical and a self-starter; comfortable with working on own and in teams.

  • Ability to combine a commercial and pragmatic approach with a high level of sensitivity and discretion.

  • Ability to effectively manage, counsel, coach and develop others

  • To qualify for the role you must have

  • Capable of working with several senior stakeholders and managing the balance between their requirements and business imperatives in a robust and assertive way.

  • Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR practices that has been honed through practical application.

  • Strong presentation and project management skills.

  • Experience of making a significant contribution to business decision making, strategic planning discussions and operational aspects of the people agenda.

  • Ideally, you’ll also have

  • A post graduate qualification in a Business or Human Resource discipline is desirable; CIPD qualified desirable.
