Job Description

Lawson Chase is currently working closely with a leading cybersecurity consultancy, who are looking to appoint a Senior Director. This role can be based in either their Chicago, NY, LA or DC offices.


About The Role

As a Senior Director in the firm’s cyber practice, you will manage the practice’s operations team, lead complex monitoring and investigation projects on behalf of a variety of clients, provide industry-specific thought leadership to the organization, and assist the sales operations and marketing team on Cyber-related matters. Senior Directors are also responsible for business development efforts (including prospecting and networking), at the direction of the Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Marketing

  • Conduct business development efforts through networking and relevant outreach

  • Work with sales team members and senior members of the practice to scope prospective Cyber engagements

  • Work with the communications teams to provide internal, ongoing Cyber education for sales team members and partners

  • Review sales and marketing collateral and suggest new materials, as needed

  • Identify upsell and cross sell opportunities for new, ongoing, and past engagements

  • Identify and attend industry conferences, when available and applicable



  • Effectively manage cyber operations team members, including through performance reviews

  • Work with the other senior members of the practice to develop and perform ongoing training for the cyber operations team

  • Ensure client deadlines are met and deliverables conform to quality standards

  • Stay on top of cyber industry trends and continuously vet new tools and techniques for adoption by the operations team

  • Work with the practice lead and other senior practitioners to identify and develop new cyber offerings

  • Perform quality control reviews of outgoing deliverables, when applicable

  • Assist with engagements in other practices, as needed


Skills & Experience

Candidates should hold a B.A. or B.S. in a related field from an accredited university. Graduate degrees, such as M.A. or M.S. degrees, and industry certifications (such as GIAC certifications) are highly desired.

Candidates will also have 10-15 years of relevant experience, including, but not limited to, prior work experience at a risk mitigation, cyber, or forensics firm, federal or local law enforcement agency, or corporate security or investigations department.

  • Experience developing new business opportunities, either through outreach, networking, or industry conferences

  • Experience managing client relationships and scoping potential engagements

  • Demonstrated industry network that includes vendors, potential clients, and partners

  • A solid understanding of the technical aspects of cyber security (i.e. malware prevention, intrusion detection, system vulnerabilities, etc.)

  • Excellent research and analytical skills

  • Excellent written and communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple projects at once with limited supervision

  • A demonstrated ability to effectively and professionally manage and/or supervise colleagues

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Must have an entrepreneurial mindset / the ability to think outside of the box to develop solutions for clients

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Proficient in various cyber, social media, and/or dark web intelligence tools is a plus
