We are working closely with a global investigations, intelligence and cyber services firm in hiring a Senior Cyber Security Associate. This role can be based in either Chicago or DC.

About The Role

Associates in the firm’s Cyber Practice supervise the practice’s team of Analysts; collect open source intelligence as part of security assessments and investigations; and monitor for threats using deep web, dark web, and social media sources.  

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Using open web, social media, and dark web sources, the Senior Associate will produce a variety of intelligence reporting products catered to a variety of audiences, including C-Suite executives and High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs)

  • Create and disseminate research summary reports and threat briefs

  • Brief clients / executives on the results of intelligence collection and analysis

  • Provide initial quality control for products generated by analysts, to include constructive feedback on research methodologies and content, and identifying a course of improvement when necessary

  • Manage the workload of analysts in the cyber practice and provide operational updates to practice management when necessary.

  • Identify new open web sources to constantly improve Executive Digital Protection services

  • Identify new ways to communicate findings / structure final reports, based on industry best practices, operational insights, and client requirements

  • Stay abreast of cyber and threat intelligence news, trends, and methodologies, and identify ways in which we can incorporate best practices

  • Use a variety of software/open web applications to track your work and report up to practice management

  • When necessary, create thought leadership pieces on behalf of the cyber practice for marketing and industry awareness initiatives

 

Skills & Experience

  • Ideal candidates will have a B.A. or B.S. in a related field from an accredited university.

  • Candidates will have 3-5 years of relevant experience, including, but not limited to, experience at a security consultancy, cyber intelligence or risk mitigation firm, relevant government agency, or corporate security or investigations department.

  • Excellent research and/or open source intelligence collection skills

  • Excellent written and briefing skills

  • Familiarity with security assessments for executive protection and other corporate security purposes

  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple projects at once with limited supervision

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and professionally supervise colleagues

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proficiency navigating U.S. and international social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

  • Willingness to work under tight deadlines and outside of normal business hours, when required

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suit
