Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to join their Client Solutions team in London. The role will lead the development of our regulatory practice. This involves understanding the regulatory environment across a number of different areas, identifying related client issues, mapping out emerging market trends, and developing an engaging programme of activities to market our regulatory proposition. They will work alongside leading experts in areas as diverse as antitrust and competition, tax, employment and financial services.  

 

About Marketing and Business Development

A creative group ranging from client managers and communications experts to designers and data wizards, the Marketing and Business Development team are a dynamic and talented global team, operating in a fast moving environment. Some members shape the client strategy, create campaigns that travel and lead the digital presence. Others work with journalists, put on high-profile events, tell compelling stories, and tackle complex business issues. Together, the firm defines the client experience and shape the perception of the company around the globe.

 

Key Responsibilities

The Client Solutions works globally to market major service areas (risk, transactional and regulatory) to key clients. It does this through the identification of client issues and emerging market trends in order to develop best-in-class marketing outputs, which target at the firm's most important clients.

Drawing on support from across the MBD function and the wider firm you will be able to:

  • Get to know the client base and identify opportunities to broaden the risk relationship 

  • Understand the risk landscape well and be able to determine key risk issues for clients 

  • Work those issues into tangible marketing and BD outputs which move the dial with clients 

  • Demonstrate measurement and ROI for those initiatives 

 

In addition, you will need to 

  • Work with global colleagues to deliver those outputs and outputs across the network 

  • Ensure that the systems and processes in place with the Global Centre are fit for purpose 

  • Manage a Business Develop Manager 

  • Collaborate with sector BD teams on key projects where there is a risk element requirement 

  • Work closely with colleagues on strategically important pitches 

  • Be responsible for at least one client account, providing CRM support 

 

Skills & Experience

  • A background in or ability to demonstrate an understanding of risk solutions. 

  • A proven  ability to bring together (and lead as necessary) an appropriate multi-discipline team to deliver a key project or client output 

  • A global perspective on some of the risk issues which are likely to be affecting clients 

  • The ability to lead, influence and persuade senior groups of stakeholders 

  • Drive, motivation and ideas

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to listen, clarify and share information easily 

  • The ability to build strong working relationships and to be able to persuade and influence a range of people, including partners
