Seeking: Senior Analyst to join the Governance & Sustainability Team of an Edinburgh based investment management firm.


The Role

This is a unique role which will report into and sit on the Investment floor alongside the fund managers and will also work closely with the wider Governance & Sustainability team.

The overall purpose of the job is to sit on the Investment floor with the portfolio managers, providing tailored research, analysis and recommendations to the Income investment teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Undertaking governance and sustainability (G&S) research for the Income investment teams, focusing on relevant and material G&S issues that have the potential to impact the investment case of holdings. This may include pre-buy, sector, and thematic research as required.

  • Make recommendations to Income teams concerning practical implications of G&S considerations.

  • Monitor Income holdings G&S performance.

  • Provide administrative support to the Income teams to help prepare marketing material, annual stewardship reports, weekly news meetings by G&S data collection and dissemination.

  • Engaging with the relevant stakeholders of Income holdings, alongside Fund Managers, on relevant G&S issues.

  • Attending meetings with clients and other relevant external stakeholders as part of communicating how G&S is integrated into company investment and research processes.

  • Communicate with the rest of the firm by responding to queries, collaborating on research and engagement and publishing research internally.

  • Write external thought pieces for clients detailing Income teams G&S sustainability developments.

  • Engage with the wider G&S community to further develop Income capabilities and investment processes in this area.


Skills & Experience

  • Graduate Calibre

  • IMC preferred

  • Experience/qualifications in related field to ESG

  • Experience in bond investment (highly desirable)
