Job Description

A high-profile insurance firm in London is looking to hire a Reporting Analyst. You will be responsible for ensuring that all the data required for internal monthly and quarterly reporting is processed and updated in the most efficient and effective manner.

 

About The Role

This role prepares internal Investment reports and associated management information. The role is also responsible for an ad hoc Investment reporting, completion of the financial accounts and Rating Agency data collection.

There will be close contact with Finance team across the Group, and as such the holder is expected to work collaboratively with these functions. The holder must have a strong sense of accountability and ownership of assigned work and be able to deliver results under tight deadlines showing flexibility and initiative when required

 

Key Responsibilities

Month End Process

  • Ensure statements and additional reporting requirements, needed for MI, are obtained from the sub-advisors

  • Preparation of all monthly and quarterly MI reporting

  • Reconciliation and analysis of the monthly performance return calculations

  • Preparation of all quarterly Head Office reporting

  • Preparation of Annual reporting for all entities

  • Completion of any requested reporting from the Rating Agencies

  • Analysis of investment related data and timely provision of reports required for the formulation of investment strategy, including analysis of asset allocation and performance.

Reporting Data Quality

  • Own, track and resolve data quality issues within the reporting process, liaising with the Senior Data Analyst and escalating to line management where necessary

Relationships

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders

  • Ensure regular feedback is given to the outsourced providers (including sub-advisors, custodians and administrators), in relation to the data and reporting content and quality. Agree appropriate remedial action to solve issues encountered.

Project Work

  • Undertake ad hoc assignments as requested by the RM

  • Liaise with new custodians or other outsource service providers to ensure reporting requirements are met and delivered effectively


Team Cover

  • Provide cover for the  IM Regulatory Reporting Analyst as required

 

Key Comptencies

  • Good knowledge of knowledge of investment instruments available across all asset classes

  • Strong Bloomberg skills to interrogate financial data

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Good knowledge of VBA or other programming skills is desirable

  • Understands the risks associated with their role.

  • Can identify emerging risks and knows when to escalate them

  • Demonstrates and in-depth understanding of data management best practice and in particular governance and quality assurance.

  • Ability to communicate difficult concepts in a clear and concise way

  • Demonstrates a good understanding of data management best practice, data governance and quality assurance.
