The company has built a team of professionals with the right experience and know-how to deal with regulation so that clients can focus on their business goals. They are a growing, independently owned, a firm with ambitious plans.Their clients operate across the financial services spectrum from the more traditional banks, fund managers, brokers and wealth managers to estate agents and fintech companies. Clients are spread across Europe, Asia and the US

Regardless of the nature of their business or operating markets, the clients have a common challenge – dealing with the financial regulation and requirements of their regulators. They are looking for an experienced regulatory consultant to join their Singapore team to help drive forward the continued development of regulatory compliance and associated service offerings both in Singapore and in wider Asia. The primary focus of the role will be marketing and business development, but the successful candidate will also be involved in delivering work to clients, project management, maintenance of technical knowledge, and contributing more generally to the development of the firm.

The firm look's for technical knowledge and industry experience, with the intellectual and personal skills necessary to build relationships, win work and deliver sound advice to clients. The firm specialise's in helping clients solve difficult and interesting problems, they look for people who thrive on intellectual challenge, conduct a thorough analysis of a problem and translate that into practical advice.


Skills & Experience

The experience, skills and knowledge relevant to this role include:

  • Building the company's Asia brand using your current network whilst establishing a new network with clients, trade associations and regulatory bodies

  • A proven track record of successfully building and maintaining commercially valuable client relationships

  • Demonstrable experience of selling people and knowledge, ideally in a consulting environment

  • Previous authorship of promotional and thought leadership material

  • Experience of managing projects and people

  • A financial services background, either on the buy-side or the sell-side, ideally in Singapore. Strong knowledge of at least one financial services sector, such as fund management or broking

  • First-class oral and written communication skills

  • Produce and report on management information against delivery of the business plan and individual targets

  • Most importantly – a desire to get up and go. 

You will be required to maintain an excellent general level of technical knowledge to support both business development activity and appropriate engagements with clients

The successful candidate won’t necessarily have experience of all of the above, but proven strong business development experience is key.

This is a highly visible role which will require the role holder to be able to continually build the company's Asia brand, win new business and deliver within challenging timescales.

To be successful in this role you will need to understand core values and be able to apply this in the Singapore and wider Asia market. As well as being an excellent team player you will need to be able to work independently with minimal support. You will need to be highly flexible as new information/learnings will emerge as the business develops which means targets and outcomes may change as and when required. Essential will be the ability to deliver high quality work to clients to grow the brand and reputation.
