We are looking to head from Operational Risk professionals for a recently available role in London, with a leading private investment firm.


The Role

The Risk function is headed by two Co-Heads who are based in London and Paris and currently comprises 3 full time staff.  The Risk function is a key part of the group control functions and reports directly into an Executive Committee member. The function is responsible for the identification and assessment of all risks arising from business activities, and includes operational and enterprise risks as well as investment risks.

The Risk Management team is looking for an operational risk officer to be based in the London office. We are looking for an engaged and motivated individual who has a strong interest in alternative investments and who can help the team build out the operational risk framework.  The London based Risk team is responsible for business activities in the UK, Switzerland, Americas and APAC.


Key Responsibilities

Specific activities and tasks:

  • Work closely with the Co-Head of Risk and his team to execute the risk management program defined by internal policies and procedures

  • Perform risk assessments to support the ICAAP

  • Perform risk assessments and produce reporting of risks for business activities in the UK, Switzerland, Americas and APAC

  • Develop and enhance the operational risk framework where necessary

  • Establish and maintain a close working relationship with internal stakeholders

  • Conduct deep dives where required


Skills & Experience

  • Experience within the asset management or wealth management sectors preferred

  • Experience within an operational or enterprise risk role

  • Capacity for structuring and reporting information and analysis

  • Intellectual curiosity, rigor and discipline

  • Ability to organise and perform work efficiently

  • Project management skills

  • Advanced knowledge in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Good interpersonal skills and team spirit

  • Strong motivation and willingness to work independently


Person Specification

  • Degree level education in a business relevant subject

  • Masters level education a plus

  • Some experience or knowledge of Private Equity an advantage

  • Fluent written and spoken English

  • Spoken and written French an advantage
