Multi-Asset Head of Compliance Advisory sought by a leading London based asset management firm.

About The Role

An ambitious programme is underway to build the future operating model.

The programme is working to challenging deadlines with complex interdependencies to be managed.

The purpose of this role is to manage the Governance workstream, supporting the Chief Risk Officer to build out the Risk and Compliance function

We are looking for a hands-on project manager who will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and is motivated by the opportunity to contribute to building an asset management organisation.

This is a business project manager role, preferably with broad experience of the regulatory landscape in Asset Management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Project context

  • The Governance workstream will deliver critical components of the business operating model including :

    • Ensure that the correct regulatory permissions and structures are in place

    • Design and implement robust operational processes for Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk and Compliance functions to provide effective support and challenge as well as the appropriate controls and oversight capability

    • Design and implement an effective and efficient governance framework for the Multi Asset business

    • Ensure that the Multi Asset business is compliant with in-flight regulatory developments e.g. MiFID II, GDPR, PRIIPs, SMR and Market Study)

  • Effective engagement will be required with a wide range of stakeholders including the Risk, Compliance and Legal teams as well as colleagues across the Multi Asset business


Project management responsibilities

  • Drive project delivery through the full lifecycle from scoping and planning through to business implementation

  • Engage proactively with key stakeholders to understand their objectives and requirements

  • Build and maintain plans which have a clear critical path

  • Close liaison with the programme team to identify and manage dependencies with other workstreams

  • Manage the workstream working group to coordinate project delivery

  • Provide progress reporting as required by the programme governance framework, escalating issues appropriately


Skills & Experience

  • Project management qualification preferred e.g. Prince 2

  • Essential: Asset management experience

  • Desirable: Strong understanding of the regulatory context for asset management with experience in Risk and/or Compliance functions

  • Strong track record of successful business change delivery in financial services

  • Strong knowledge of project management disciplines and tools
