Multi Asset Business Analyst/Project Manager sought to join a leading wealth management business, based in London.

 

About The Role

The purpose of this role is to support the Multi Asset Head of Operations to build out a robust operating platform which delivers an efficient, effective and compliant operations service model.

We are looking for an experienced and broadly-skilled Business Analyst/Project Manager who will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and is motivated by the opportunity to contribute to building an asset management organisation.  

Deep subject-matter expertise in asset management is essential for this role.

 

Key Responsibilities

Project context

  • The Operations function includes Investment Operations, Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, Dealing Operations, Investment Risk, Performance Measurement and Client Reporting.

  • The Business Analyst/Project Manager will be working in partnership with business functions to design and document business processes/procedures as well as requirements analysis, specification and testing where required for system changes.

  • Effective engagement will be required with a wide range of stakeholders including outsourced service providers

 

Business process models and procedure documentation

  • Adapt existing documentation of business policies, business process models and operational procedures to deliver the interim and/or target operating model and develop new documentation to cover any gaps

  • Ensure that procedures meet regulatory compliance requirements with appropriate controls in place

  • Play a key role in assessing operational readiness and supporting business implementation

 

Requirements analysis, specification & testing

  • Elicit requirements using appropriate methods including interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process and workflow analysis.

  • Collaborate with users and third-parties to understand functional and data needs.

  • Author both business and functional requirements documents and technical specifications in line with company standards

  • Together with IT and third-party providers, support a robust testing programme for system changes and new system implementations

 

Project management

  • Where required, provide project management support to lead and drive  initiatives

  • This includes planning, status reporting and escalating issues through the programme governance structure

Skills & Experience

  • Formal qualification in business or operational analysis is desirable

  •  

  • Essential : Comprehensive knowledge of Asset Management and the day-to-day activities and departmental interactions involved. Deep understanding of middle and back-office operations across a wide range of investment products and instrument types.

  •  

  • Essential : Proven track record in business analysis to support operating model change

  •  

  • Desirable : Experience with four-layer process modelling techniques and the use of structured modelling methodologies

  •  

  • Desirable : Experience of working  with outsourced service models

  •  

  • Desirable : Understanding of the regulatory landscape around asset management

  • Project management experience with an understanding of Project Management disciplines. Broad experience of business change delivery in financial services
