Job Description

Our client, a leading provider of advice, investments and wealth management both in the UK and internationally, is looking to appoint a Legal Counsel to join their London based office.

 


About The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a qualified solicitor to take control of the work streams as allocated by the Head of Legal, you’ll be expected to manage these work streams autonomously.

The Legal Counsel will be responsible for documenting the firm's relationships with counterparties, clients and intermediaries (e.g. standard and bespoke client terms and conditions and intermediary terms of business; custody and brokerage documentation; platform documentation, office, product and service launches).

The Legal Counsel will also provide advice regarding regulatory (FCA) and governance matters, the actions of regulatory bodies, and specific projects, as well as disputes and legal proceedings; and review the responses to certain categories of complaints and expressions of dissatisfaction (FOS and Irish and Jersey equivalents).

 

About You

  • You will have a Law degree (or equivalent) and legal practice or other relevant vocational courses and be admitted as a solicitor for ideally 3 years (PQE.)

  • You must have excellent research, drafting, negotiating, implementation and communication skills, managing expectations proactively taking ownership of matters, and being reliable and a largely autonomous legal officer.

  • Knowledge regarding the financial services sector would also be desirable.
