Lawson Chase is on the hunt for an experienced Investment Oversight Analyst on behalf of one of the UK’s leading investment management firms.

 

About The Role

A new opportunity has arisen for an Investment Oversight Analyst to join our client’s Investment Oversight Team based in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire.  As an integral part of the Investment Team, the Investment Oversight Team report directly to the Chief Investment Officer.

This role is responsible for supporting the Investment Oversight Team provide effective oversight and challenge to the Multi-Asset investment capabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuous analysis of the Multi-Asset portfolios, investigating portfolio positioning, performance and investment risk, to provide peer level insight and challenge to fund managers

  • Support the provision of independent oversight to facilitate investment risk challenge between the Multi-Asset Teams and the Chief Investment Officer

  • Support the Senior Investment Oversight Manager in the provision of Risk Management on the group’s Risk-Managed Fund of Fund portfolios

  • Proactively manage departmental processes, systems and information with the goal of delivering transparent and insightful information on Multi-Asset strategies to the Investment Oversight Team and the Chief Investment Officer

  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of performance and risk issues, systems and industry developments

  • Ensure all activities are in line with TCF

 

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrable previous relevant experience gained within an investment business or financial services

  • Evidence of an understanding of performance attribution and ex-ante investment risk analysis, while an understanding of economics and behavioural finance would be beneficial

  • High level of understanding of Fixed Interest and financial derivative instruments is essential

  • A keen interest in financial markets

  • Excellent PC skills (especially in relation to MS Office applications, particularly Excel)

  • Experience with Barclays POINT and Bloomberg are essential, while experience with RiskMetrics would be beneficial

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent

  • A professional qualification such as CFA, IMC or FRM

  • Flexibility

  • The job holder will have excellent analytical skills and an inquisitive nature

  • They will also be able to work with minimal supervision, have excellent attention to details and demonstrate a high degree of initiative
