We are seeking investigators for due-diligence & litigation research to join a leading professional services firm.
About The Role
Our client is seeking inquisitive, highly motivated investigators for its San Francisco office. This is an advanced entry-level opportunity, with preference given to those with 1 to 3 years of prior work experience.
The successful candidate will receive extensive training, including in the use of databases that cover public records such as property, financial disclosures, lawsuits and news reports, and will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Conducting due-diligence research on the backgrounds of people and companies around the world to assist clients in hiring and investment decision.
- Possibly also conducting other types of investigation, such as research to support litigators, including locating witnesses; asset traces; investigation to assist clients in complying with global anticorruption regulations; and investigations of internal frauds and employment-related disputes.
- Drafting and editing reports for clients
- Briefing senior investigators and clients on findings
- Managing project budgets
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher is required, as well as strong writing and research skills. Relevant work experience in research, journalism or litigation support is desirable. Fluency and strong writing skills in English are mandatory; fluency in other languages is a plus. A sophisticated knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel), social media and/or the Internet is also a plus.
The successful candidate should have a high level of attention to detail; intellectual curiosity; logical thought; creative problem solving skills; and the ability to manage a variety of simultaneous, deadline-driven projects.
