Established in 2007, the company has offices in London, Bristol, New York and California. They are one of the fastest growing UK and US-based companies, providing big data reputational risk intelligence solutions to large global companies and institutions. They are a world leader in the reputational risk management/intelligence big data space.


About The Role

The company has over 50 employees across the UK, US and IRE. HR globally is managed by the UK. Currently, they have a small HR department comprised of 2 FTEs - the Director, HR and an HR Officer. The current HR Officer is moving onward and upward so they are looking for a talented replacement.

While the HR function is small, you will be very involved in the business from engagement to capability to supporting customer delivery. Exceptional delivery around compliance, onboarding and off-boarding is expected.

The company is looking for an experienced HR Officer, preferably one with multi-disciplinary experience (recruitment sourcing/support highly desired). Strong HR Officer experience required but can be with a background in either the UK or the US. Once on board, you will be required to gain understanding and navigate through both with ease. Assisting with interesting HR related projects is a daily occurrence and you will experience a lot of hands-on learning!

The right candidate will possess solid critical thinking skills, have excellent follow-up and follow-through (good pace and sense of urgency) and strong verbal and written communication skills. Candidates will need to have completed or be well underway with their CIPD Level 5 qualification.

Key Responsibilities 

Onboarding / Off-Boarding:

  • Coordinate on-boarding for both UK and US employees

    • Manage all items on the onboarding checklist to close (i.e. send new hire related items, track for completion and file)

    • Capture relevant employee data in HR systems

  • Handle multi-national employee induction meetings speaking to:

    • Employee Value Proposition

    • Mission, Vision & Values

    • Professional Standards

    • Benefits Overview

  • Coordinate off-boarding for both UK and US employees

    • Manage all items on off-boarding checklist to close

    • Coordinate with Payroll on final amounts needed for exiting employee documentation (i.e. final hours worked and available annual leave)

    • Coordinate with manager regarding equipment and items to be returned

    • Update internal HR systems


Recruitment Support:

  • Research and assist in creating draft job descriptions

  • Post jobs on company Applicant Tracking System (Workable) and/or applicable job boards

  • Support recruitment action steps (i.e. thank you / no thank you and/or scheduling interviews and meeting resources)

  • Conduct candidate reference checks

  • Partner in social recruitment initiatives

  • Exhibit the potential to move into:

    • Sorting CVs for applicability/elimination

    • Conducting screening interviews and documenting feedback

    • Providing screening feedback to hiring managers


Additional Support Items:

  • Responsible for full e-filing of employee / HR records

  • Update and maintain employee intranet (BambooHR)

  • Probationary process and records management

  • Annual performance management process

  • Annual employee engagement surveys

  • Multi-national benefits administration

  • US benefits open enrolment

  • UK benefits evaluation / research

  • Assist in HR system implementation processes

  • Assistance in policy, procedure and HR project research/development

  • Ability to understand and assist in tracking and updating HR metrics related to turnover, retention, headcount, recruitment, and HR budget-related items

  • Understand and assist in reinforcing HR branding with all communications and work product delivered from HR

  • Assist with meeting coordination, conference room scheduling, etc.


Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years in busy HR Officer or higher role supporting a Head of HR or similar role

  • Experience HR Officer or higher function (UK or US background)

  • Multi-disciplinary HR experience desired. Experience with recruitment highly preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Solid critical thinking skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail – data capture, follow-up and follow-through, high level of accuracy

  • Good understanding of the pace and urgency related to the HR function

  • Proven ability to own a project and drive it to close

  • Solid MS Outlook and Word experience. Good Excel experience (basic formulas and formatting experience)

  • Proficient at navigating technology and ability to learn systems quickly. Prior experience with ATS / HRMS / HRIS preferred. Knowledge of Workable, Bamboo HR and LinkedIn Recruiter a plus.

  • CIPD qualified or working towards qualification

  • Proven ability to handle confidential matters, materials and data

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to adhere to strict timelines

  • Ability to plan and prioritise work and conflicting demands

  • Desire to use initiative and seek continuous improvement

  • Logical and analytical approach to work

  • Self-starter and the ability to work with minimum supervision
