Seeking: Human resources Business Partner to join a leading New York-based asset management firm.

 

The Role

Based in the firm’s New York City office, this position is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the office by partnering with the business on human capital needs and working collaboratively with their HR colleagues at headquarters and across the globe.  The NY Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) works as a consultative business partner to the Head of the NY office, senior management and represents HR on the NY Management Committee. This role also provides local leadership to a shared administrative and office service resources that are part of other departments.

 

Key Responsibilities

This position leads, promotes and implements internal key HR initiatives in support of business strategy and objectives. They include:

  • Working with the business to identify human capital strategies in support of business goals

  • Leading recruiting strategies in partnership with the talent acquisition team

  • Partnering with the business on organizational development, structure and planning

  • Supporting the employee lifecycle from onboarding, internal employee experience, rewards, development and off-boarding

  • Staying ahead of compliance and regulatory changes and supports process and training requirements

  • Collaborating with local leadership on organizational culture and inclusion efforts

  • Understanding local drivers of employee engagement and implementing strategies to boost engagement

  • Engaging in policy development and communicate process to management and employees

  • Keeping leadership, management and employees updated on HR initiatives

  • Managing and resolving complex employee relations issues while conducting thorough and objective investigations

 

Skills & Experience

  • Strong business acumen, demonstrated success in partnering with the business and creating effective human capital solutions

  • Strong understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws

  • Experience with Global/International Human Resources strongly desired

  • Strong multi-disciplinary HR expertise including compensation practices, organizational health, employee relations and employment laws, diversity and effective performance and talent management

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively promote ideas and solutions

  • Ability to advise and coach managers and employees ranging from simple to complex issues

  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task

  • An agile mindset

  • Strong analytics and technology experience. Leverages data to create solutions for the business

  • Ability to adhere to the company’s core values of trust, honesty, diversity, teamwork, collaboration, mutual respect and personal responsibility

  • Ability to demonstrate the highest level of confidentiality and integrity, building trust with the business and employees

 

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, HR, or related field. Master’s Degree preferred

  • Multi-disciplined HR background, with a minimum of five years of significant HR experience, preferably of partnering with, coaching and providing guidance at the Senior Manager/Director level
