Job Description

Our client, an innovative fintech company is looking to appoint a Head of Business Operations to lead their Japanese & Asian Markets. This role will be based in their Tokyo offices.


You help the CEO develop, communicate and execute corporate strategic initiatives. This role requires a goals oriented approach with the aim of helping the team to reach the roadmap's milestones in a timely manner.

To excel in this role, you will need to be precise, meticulous, well organised, an excellent team player, understand the business objectives, produce 360° overview reports while keeping a focus on risks and potential returns. At the heart of the strategic decision making, you will be leading the operations for the Japanese and Asian market. You will work in an agile way, continually adapting to change, and will make sure the top management is always armed with the proper data to make informed decisions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the CEO of Japan, your responsibilities will be of different kinds:

  • Design and implement processes and policies in line with the company vision and culture and in compliance with laws and regulations.

  • Optimise workflow and productivity and automate tasks whenever possible.

  • Measure and report on operational performance and develop plans to improve relevant key performance indicators.

  • Document and keep records on processes and policies.

  • Conduct regular assessments and audits of operations and highlight improvement areas.

  • Act as a facilitator to ensure clear and efficient information flow between all teams in all locations by creating appropriate processes.

  • Coordinate and supervise the Virtual Currency License Project.


Skills & Experience

  • Japanese Native speaker.

  • Ideally, you have a transversal experience in companies with different level of processes and policies.

  • Understanding of operational procedures at all levels of the organisation.

  • Master in Business Administration, Information Technology or relevant field.

  • Proficient English with excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Extensive experience in project management and associated tools, ideally Asana.

  • Technical background or deep experience working with tech teams.

  • Fluency in agile scrum methods.

  • Pragmatic with a critical mind – solution-oriented.

  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset.

  • Empathy with great listening skills – focusing on understanding how and why things are done the way they are.

  • Ability to inspire employees to live up their potential and optimise their productivity.
