About The Role

The firm is one of the top Professional Services (Big 4) firm for Business students in the Universum Global ranking of most attractive employers.   This is an exciting opportunity to lead the UK FSO Advisory Consultant programme, currently the 2nd largest Graduate intake in the UK Firm and largest Grad intake in FSO.
In September 2017 120 new consultants will join UK FSO Advisory (with plans to launch a second annual intake in January from January 2018).

The objective of UK FSO Advisory Consultant Programme (ACP) is to provide junior consultants with a broad range of skills and experiences through on the job learning underpinned by a formal learning curriculum.

The ACP Leader is responsible for the delivery of the programme through four key pillars:-

  • Learning, development and experiences

  • Recruitment and on-boarding

  • Leadership development/high-performance teaming

  • Community/connection


Key Responsibilities

 Reporting to the Sponsoring partner for the ACP and the UK FSO Advisory Head of People you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of the ACP ensuring that the programme delivers the formal learning and on-the-job experience required for progression to Senior Consultant.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Management of a team

  • The delivery of the twice yearly 3 week graduate induction

  • Working with UK Operations and Finance teams to set annual graduate recruitment targets. Ensure agreed plans are in place to monitor recruitment activities against plans; working with operations to address issues or changes to plan

  • Managing recruitment expectations, demands and deliverables for the FSO UK market including the relationship with the graduate recruitment team, recruitment collateral, partner engagement in the selection process and issue resolution

  • Ensuring the performance management process for the programme is consistently managed across the business. Partnering with HR to counselling managers through performance issues.

  • Development of a mid-point skills assessment day.

  • Management of the end of programme promotion readiness assessment process.

  • Driving the governance committee to continually evolve the ACP in line with changing business needs.

  • Partnering with the business to develop and implement new Apprenticeships for FY’19 and beyond.

  • Oversight of the undergraduate programmes to support the recruitment pipeline.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Innovation and creativity, identifying and implementing ideas that deliver competitive advantage.

  • Facilitates meetings, workshops and focus groups.

  • The ability to build excellent relationships with senior and junior individuals using appropriate interpersonal styles and methods.  

  • Creates a good first impression, commands attention and respect, shows an air of confidence, and deals comfortably with colleagues at all levels. 

  • Establishes procedures to monitor the progress of projects and activities; handles issues openly and constructively.

  • Ability to operate flexibly, accounting for shifting priorities and deadlines

  • Adaptable and well-developed verbal and written communication skills

  • Conscientious with excellent attention to detail

  • Experience in a senior role in people management, recruitment or Human Resources

  • Experience in graduate or apprentice programme management.
