Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads European Government Relations sponsored initiatives, for example events and policymaker visits.

  • Coordinates engagement for the Head of Government Relations - Europe with crew from other departments. Develops policy positions on European regulatory initiatives, including  organisation of the European Public Policy Group, as well as coordination of related materials (e.g. Ambassadors Guide; performance dashboard).

  • Manages and maintains: (a) public policy relationship maps; (b) lobbying register entries; (c) a calendar of upcoming policymaker European Government Relations engagement; (d) a comprehensive electronic filing system for European Government Relations matters; (e) consultation process ownership; and (f) trade association membership oversight.

  • Prepares: (a) presentations and briefings for the Head of Government Relations - Europe for internal and external European Government Relations meetings; and (b) reports for the Head of Government Relations - Europe and senior management on European Government Relations activities.

  • Assists with the relationship management of an external public policy firm to provide support to the European Government Relations function.

  • Provides administrative support to the Head of Government Relations - Europe. Acts as an alternative contact, distributes internal communications and manages administrative correspondence for the Head of Government Relations - Europe with European policymakers. Handles routine business as usual Government Relations enquiries.

  • Performs preliminary review and analysis of European public policy communications for the Head of Government Relations - Europe.

  • Tracks European Government Relations spend and ensures operation are within budget.

  • Participates in special projects and assisting with any other matters as directed by the Head of Government Relations - Europe.

 

Skills & Experience

  • At least 4 years' administrative experience in an investment management or financial services business.

  • Minimum five years general experience with a minimum of two years of experience in financial services .

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Good relationship management skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

  • Demonstrated ability to function in a deadline oriented, fast paced and rapidly changing environment. Effectively handles multiple priorities and initiatives.

  • Ability to elicit trust and confidence and maintain composure and a positive approach.
