Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for promoting the values and strategic business priorities of of the company to media as well as ensuring that all relationships with the media are effectively managed.

  • One of your key roles will be to promote the company brand, its spokespeople, capabilities, values and thought leadership in the external marketplace.

  • You will also play a critical role in maintaining the credibility of the Global Communications team, using your expertise and industry knowledge to manage relationships between the media and our media spokespeople.

  • You will work in close collaboration with other members of the Media team and with teams throughout the business is a key component of the role.

  • Your proactive media engagement will help to enhance the company’s profile while also raising the profiles of business units, regional businesses and individuals to support and complement marketing and distribution activity

  • By working closely with colleagues in the Global Media team and across various areas of the business including investment specialists, client relationship teams and investment managers, you will develop, manage and implement strategic and tactical media communications strategies

  • Using the depth of your market and investment knowledge, you will pro-actively identify appropriate media opportunities and action them, including drafting, editing, commissioning and placing content (commentary, bylined columns, press releases), pitching and securing interviews and organising media events. All of which should be undertaken in line with regulatory requirements and brand values

  • You will engage with relevant business units and colleagues to formulate reactive media plans to respond to any issues that may arise.

  • As part of increasing our media reach you will identify strategies and opportunities to promote content through all of our digital and social platforms

  • You may be required to regularly liaise with PR agencies (UK and overseas)

  • You will be expected to train, support and coach media spokespeople as well as providing guidance pre/post interviews

Skills & Experience

  • Business and industry aware with strong asset management knowledge and experience

  • Strong writing skills to draft high effective and insightful media releases, market insights and bylined columns

  • Ability to build rapport and maintain relationships with internal and external clients

  • Comfortable challenging and discussing complex investment/business messaging and able to clearly articulate the key messages in writing or verbally for external stakeholders

  • Strong track-record of effective co-ordination and delivery of media activity

  • A passion for media and developing new, creative channels - including via social media

  • Service oriented and sensitive to confidential information

  • Outstanding organisational skills



  • PR or communications experience

  • An established network of national and trade journalist contacts

  • Investment Management Certificate



  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
