Our client, a leading assurance, tax and advisory firm is seeking an experienced Events Manager for a 12 month Maternity cover.

About The Role

A rare opportunity has arisen within the Events department for two experienced Event managers on a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. The successful candidates will be responsible for effectively planning, managing and executing conferences, meetings and other events. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Researching and selecting venues and hotels

  • Negotiating with hotels and other vendors to secure competitive hotel and delegate rates and value-add services

  • Negotiating event contracts and ensuring compliance withlegal requirements

  • Researching suppliers and negotiating rates

  • Creating and managing event budgets

  • Updating information on the intranet conference site and event calendar

  • Managing conference systems, registrations and meeting logistics

  • Organising complex meeting schedules and liaising with external contractors and  stakeholders to ensure all requirements are met

  • Planning and managing evening and social functions

  • Arranging accommodation, transportation, special needs, etc

  • Managing logistical arrangements for speakers, guests, clients etc

  • Overseeing production of conference materials – banners, signage, badges etc

  • Managing on-site meeting registration and logistics


Skills & Experience

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent

  • At least 5 years' experience in event management within a corporate organisation, preferably professional services

  • Experience of on line registration systems and conference Apps

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and senior stakeholder relationships at the same time

  • Ability to work in an often pressurised environment whilst ensuring own set deadlines are met

  • Ability to juggle changing priorities

  • Flexibility required for travel and working outside normal office hours during events

  • Confident communication style 

  • Proactive approach to the role

  • Resourceful and resilient attitude

  • Excellent organisational and proven project management skills

  • Vendor management experience

  • Excellent attention to detail



  • Experience using Cvent or similar for online registration
