Job Description

Our client is looking to hire an experienced Due Diligence analyst for a new role based in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will be embedded in a major multinational technology firm’s global security department.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a diligent and cooperative member of a global team of analysts conducting media, legal, compliance, and regulatory research using proprietary databases and public domain sources.

  • Collect and gather information from law enforcement databases and court houses and compile information into an investigative/intelligence report.

  • Review large amounts of media, legal, regulatory, and compliance information.

  • Provide leadership and guidance, as appropriate, related to the direction and completion of team projects.

  • Support an environment of protecting the client’s people, assets, and reputation through pro-active intelligence reporting, information sharing, and partnering with internal stakeholders.

  • Gather and analyse data to facilitate improvements in the methodologies, tools and techniques to enable the team to optimise operations to mitigate potential risk.

  • Identify gaps in current due diligence processes and develop new solutions and products to address these.

  • Appropriately leverage resources, technology, information, and tactics in a manner that protects reputation and minimises risk.

  • Develop and maintain good source networks to support online due diligence capabilities.

  • Fit into a respectful team culture centred on open communication, sharing, listening, and recognition of team members at all levels.

  • Follow client company’s procedures and processes as they relate to best practices, and handling of confidential information.

  • Flexible work schedule, able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Report on a daily basis to the client’s Global Intelligence Manager, while also reporting regularly to line manager.

  • Undertake contract and vendor management for all external analysis providers, as required.

  • Manage and grow relationships with relevant internal stakeholders at both the company  and the client.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree or higher.

  • Due diligence analysis experience including principles, concepts, research, evaluation, and integration of all-source data.

  • Excellent understanding of reputational risks facing businesses.

  • Able to write clearly, simply and compellingly in English.

  • Excellent knowledge of and experience with principal research databases to support online due diligence research.

  • Experience working with confidential information.

  • Experience completing multiple tasks simultaneously and functioning with minimal supervision.

  • Experience of undertaking due diligence projects across the Asia region.

  • Good analytical judgement, as well as the ability to identify reputational or other risk issues and their likely consequences for the client’s business.

  • An understanding of whether and how such risks might be mitigated.

  • Strong writing and presentational skills, and attention to detail.

  • Solid relationship building skills, including the ability to develop contacts across a complex multi-jurisdictional environment.

  • Experience of producing high-end reporting that looks visually sophisticated.

  • Ability to read and speak Mandarin and/or other major regional languages.

  • At least three years’ work experience in the business intelligence field.
