Job Description

Seeking: Database Analyst to join a well-known asset management firm, based in London.

You will be responsible  for populating performance, analytical and company information on a variety of external and internal databases. The aim is to develop product knowledge, streamline the update function and evolve skills to add value in other areas of the Team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Periodic updating and maintenance of the suite of institutional databases utilised by the business in particular eVestment and Mercer GIMD.

  • Manage the data relationship with some of the external database vendors.

  • Streamline the upload data provision process by working closely with external software providers.

  • Identify different ways to showcase data that is available within the databases

  • Deliver insightful analysis on funds to be provided to sales and other business stakeholders.

  • Develop skills and knowledge to utilise literal databases such as PMAPS and populate Fund and Company RFP’s.

  • Be responsible for the Team-wide creation of a data hub utilising Sharepoint and other Office 365 functions.

  • Creation of self-service data for the Team and business to access.

  • Problem solve and stress test the output from all databases utilised.

  • Respond to direct requests from investors and proactively interact with them.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Educated to degree level in a Literal or Mathematical field.

  • Ideally over 2 years of experience of institutional database population.

  • IMC or working towards IMC or other professional qualification of a similar level. Advanced Excel/VBA and knowledge of Python or R or SQL beneficial.

  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg, UBS Delta, Factset tools, FE Analytics, Style Analytics, Vermilion, Morningstar and Data Management Tools.

  • Must have eVestment, Mercer GIMD knowledge, other databases useful

  • Experience of streamlining population process

  • SQL / programming knowledge helpful but not essential

  • Ability to create own in-house databases from scratch

  • Ideally experience of non-analytical databases as well, such as PMAPS

  • Ideally a working knowledge of generic third party business systems (Factset, FE, Style Analytics, Bloomberg)

  • A good understanding of financial markets and products
