About The Role

  • Effectively managing a team of up to ten staff

  • Ensuring that the business objectives for Data services (Data management, Data visualization and reporting) are achieved through the operating, deployment and ongoing improvement in the technology and engineering capability (staff, structures, systems and management disciplines) used to operate the business

  • Representing both the business and the technological capability for internal stakeholders (local and offshore) and external stakeholders (clients, prospects, vendors/suppliers, industry groups, media)

  • Developing our IT skills towards new data services solution and technologies

    • Contribute actively to UK IT/ENG IFS Management team for transversal initiatives


Effective Domain Management for IFS UK IT Data Services

  • Applications in scope of the domain: IGates, Dakar and all reporting Hiport satellites.

  • Applications with oversight from the domain (Digital and data services hosted non-UK platforms): DNA, Vermillion, Mistral, PBLINK (TM)

  • Budget / Cost Management

    • Ensure budgets are respected, monitored and transparently reported to sponsors

    • Onshore headcount objectives strictly respected

    • Offshore headcount objectives respected

    • Ensure internal invoice are agreed with stakeholders

  • Service Delivery: contribute to service delivery excellence for the domain scope in coordination with the teams directly in charge of this service.

    • Contribute to reporting (IT KPIs)

    • Be accountable for incidents reduction plans and mitigation on owned platforms

    • Ensure full technical and functional analysis of application related incidents to design and monitor relevant action plan

    • Ensure incidents debriefs are feeding into continuous improvement of process on the platform

  • Platform: Ensure proper platform monitoring for the domain scope in coordination with the teams in charge of this service (with other stakeholders: IPS, BP2I). Monitor with the team the specific plan around platform optimisation to ensure platform stability/robustness/scalability and both short term and long term.

    • This applies to a direct ownership for all UK data services platform

    • This applies also with a strong IT to IT oversight for non-UK data services platforms (DNA, Vermillion)

  • Security & Compliance Objectives

    • Ensure all IG and internal audit recommendations closed before due dates

    • No permanent write access to critical applications for BPSS IT staff (I will be following up on this more regularly)

  • Quality, Method and Standard Tool: Ensuring that the standards of quality and safety set by BP2S teams are put into practice by the team

  • Agility: Optimize time to market development capabilities (leverage new approach: DevOps, Agile development…)

  • Escalation process: Immediate escalation of major issues for the domain of all aspects technical, functional, organization or HR


Design and deliver Data services roadmap (IFS Scope)

  • Endorse ownership of the IT delivery of the business ambition for data services in coordination with relevant stakeholders: central architecture team, product stakeholders, operations team and sponsor (Head of ISA Data Services). In particular, contribute to key discussion around the evolution of the Middle office Data services to ensure IT/ENG vision is taken into account alongside business drivers (ISA Business line: MO, IRP and FA scope).

  • Ensure proper governance is designed and respected to provide monitoring and steering of the Data services roadmap with all central ISA and UK stakeholders:

    • Contribute to the data services strategy taking into account new technologies (Data lake, FinTech initiatives)

    • Guarantees delivery of development for all Data services platforms (IGates, DNA, Vermillion)

    • Ensuring the relevance of the choice of solutions (coherence, architecture, non-redundancy, etc)

    • Ensure roadmap are coherent with others IT owners to ensure convergence of platforms when relevant (Eg given data services environment is taking into account in CIBoT program for MO)

  • Coordinate with local managers (London and Chennai) the tasks of the IT and Engineering teams in scope:

    • Engineering / Business analyst activities for Data services (project, on-boarding, internal/external changes)

    • IT activities for Data services platform with a strong link with the vendor in London (Markit)

    • Chennai IT Dev/testing and business analyst activities for IGates / Dakar (project, on-boarding, internal/external changes)

  • Represent IFS UK IT point of contact for RFPs related to data services

  • Own i.e. review, validate and represent IT SLA related to data services


Contribute to the design and execution of the BP2S data strategy

  • Ensure close partnership with senior stakeholders from both IT and Business, locally and centrally to contribute to the design of BP2S Data strategy and its execution through programs/projects.

Skills & Experience


  • The demonstrated ability to understand Middle Office FAMO functions and his position as part of our overall IFS business functions to make knowledgeable and profitable business decisions. Ability to provide operational knowledge of business terms and conditions, including financial reporting and business metrics

  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability in a line management position

  • Previous line management experience of up to 10 individuals

  • Strong capability to coordinate resources within various location (France, London, Glasgow, Chennai)

  • Strong expertise in data services and platforms

  • Relevant practical experience to demonstrate the personal and technical ability to deliver on the objectives outlined above in the key responsibilities section

  • Excellent client facing skills

  • Strong capacity to coordinate initiatives with central teams


  • Graduate degree or relevant qualifications in an appropriate discipline (Engineering, IS, IT, Computing Science)
