About The Role

Working with the director of global communications, the corporate communications manager’s role is to plan and execute all corporate communications activity, internal and external in support of the firm’s 2020 strategy.

Responsible for co-ordinating and executing corporate communications on behalf of GTIL to its key senior stakeholders in member firms in over 135 countries around the world. This includes working with the global leadership team to ensure key priority projects are clearly communicated to the network and that we capture best practice to help drive innovation and collaboration.

Responsible for day-to-day PR, managing relationships with key target media and ensuring smooth co-ordination with member firms around the world on PR activity. This includes leading on media activation for the firm’s global thought leadership programmes.

 

Key Responsibilities

Corporate communications:

  • Sourcing and developing stories that best illustrate the corporate narrative and bring the strategy to life.

  • Work with internal teams to help develop best practice in their approach to communication, both internal and external.

  • Responsible for communications aspects of the firm’s annual global CSR programme, Growing Together, including: co-ordinating global activity and messaging, social and media profile; data capture for evidence base to highlight impact we have.

  • Communication to the network policies and procedures, including quality and risk policies, regulatory compliance.

  • Production of annual transparency report.

 

Media relations:

  • Maintaining strong relationships with key target media. Ensuring media have a clear understanding of who is, what we do and what we stand for.

  • Ability to manage and prioritise incoming media requests according to clear prioritisation of target media.

  • Able to advise smaller member firms on PR best practice and help find the best people around the network to answer media queries.

  • Manage production and sign off of all media materials for the firm, working with internal teams (content, social media, digital etc) and external agencies where necessary.

  • Maintain evidence base in support of the key themes and messages to ensure what we talk about remains current and relevant.

  • Briefing and preparing the spokespeople ahead of media interviews.

  • Dissemination of coverage gained.

  • Reporting and measurement of all media coverage at regular intervals as part of broader communications measurement framework.

 

Communications team support:

  • Help support the communications executive responsible for internal communications and, with director of communications, help cover internal communications when the exec is on leave.

 

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Educated to degree level

  • 5-10 years' experience of internal and external communications, preferably in a financial, business-to-business or professional services environment.

  • Self-starter with the ability and confidence to develop and implement their own projects and workload.

  • Exceptional writing and editorial skills.

  • Experience of digital communications channels and working closely with colleagues in digital / social.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an effective and collaborative team player.

  • Strong organisation and time management skills and an ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Proven track record of building and maintaining effective working relationships with the media.

 

Desirable

  • Professional PR, communications or marketing qualification

  • previous experience of working within a global professional services environment and with international stakeholders
