Job Description

Consultant, Banking, Lending & Payments team (regulatory compliance experience required in  Mortgage and/or Payment Services Regulation)

About The Role

The company's Banking, Investments and Lending (BIL) team is growing and is looking to hire a client facing consultant with particular flair and enthusiasm for business development in each of its three teams – Investments, Banking, Lending and Payment Services (BLP) and Financial Crime Advisory, to be based in the London office.

The firm helps a variety of clients solve regulatory and compliance problems including in connection with suitability, CASS, financial crime, governance and organisation and complex authorisations. They work primarily with retail, commercial and private banks, real estate agencies, wealth managers, mortgage and consumer credit providers and fund managers. They work with new start-ups to get them FCA authorised and provide ongoing compliance support both to newly established and more mature businesses.  The firm also delivers a wide range of projects for our clients anything from start-up businesses to the largest financial institutions in the world.

The role involves playing an active part in all the team’s activities – delivering work to clients, participating in marketing and business development, conducting technical research and producing technical materials, and contributing more generally to the growth and development of the company.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable and relevant work experience either in another professional services firm, in-house or at the regulator. Practical experience is critical (gained by working within a firm or in a closely connected capacity). Compliance experience is essential and a compliance qualification would be a benefit. Also equired, are excellent academic credentials. A passion for solving interesting problems, a love of managing relationships with clients and great teamwork are all important.

The range of skills required is diverse. On one hand the preferred candidate will be confident when dealing with senior client staff; on the other hand the candidate must be able to solve in depth technical queries that require careful attention to detail.

In return the company offer the opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving environment with plenty of scope for advancement. You will be working alongside like-minded individuals and will have access to lots of training and development. The firm’s compensation package is competitive and there is opportunity for profit related bonuses.
