Job Description

The Role

You will be responsible for analysing and ensuring effective compliance with relevant Rules, Regulations, and Guidance including, but not limited to relevant provisions of the Companies Act 2014, and those emanating from the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) as they affect the functions, to ensure that regulatory developments are appropriately monitored, reviewed, and relevant stakeholders receive relevant notification and guidance of the same.

As well as, keep host state regulation and legislation under review (with input from Product Law as required) ensuring that recommendations as approved by the Board are implemented and monitored maintain the Compliance Manual and the Financial Crime Prevention. With responsibility with procedures Manual ensuring that relevant changes to legislation and

regulation are incorporated and communicated accordingly and establish Financial Crime Prevention awareness through staff training on relevant procedures.

You will also be responsible in producing and presenting report as appropriate including quarterly Board reports, quarterly reports for the Group Financial Crime Officer, monthly reports for the Chief Risk Officer, the annual Local Financial Crime Officer Report for the Board, and Risk Reports on key risks and control exposures across all categories of risk (including emerging risks).

Your Key Risk and Regulatory Requirements are CBI – PCF 15 – Compliance Officer & Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Act as Data Protection Officer. As well as perform the relevant roles in accordance with the applicable regulatory standards. 

 

Skills & Experience

You will need to be proactively developing and maintaining knowledge of industry themes and best practice which is shared with relevant stakeholders, as well as have the ability to promote a positive compliance and risk aware culture, strong analytical, influencing and management skills. Showing an ability to identify possible concerns/objections and structure communication accordingly; conveying confidence when dealing with people at all levels both internally and externally.

We are looking for an individual who is good with planning, coaching, and organisational skills. Agreeing time and priorities with others to ensure goals and customer needs are met, and has developed depth and breadth of expertise which is regularly updated and shared with relevant stakeholders

 

You will need to have a Regulatory qualification (e.g. ICA) as well as previous proven experience working in a Compliance and Risk role within the financial services industry, preferably within the life assurance sector.
