Change & Implementation Manager sought for a globally known banking and financial services firm.


About The Role

The Investment Reporting & Performance Department exists to provide Performance, Risk, Attribution and Client Reporting services to clients and provides essential analytical support to other divisions within the firm.

The department consists of:  

  • Performance Analysts with Client Services team structure

  • Business Analysts with Client Projects & Integration team

  • Product Sales Specialists

  • Business Management, including global and local financial control

The department is heavily client focused, interacting with end clients on a daily basis in service delivery, as well as a series of regular interactions on client funded project work.

The successful candidate will work as a Change & Implementation Manager within the Investment Reporting and Performance function, tasked with implementing change events allocated to oversight, including: -

  • Client raised change control to adapt an existing live service

  • New business implementations 

  • Internal change programmes (e.g. Client Quality plans, process optimization work)

This role will contribute to the success of the business by strengthening client relationships through the maintenance of effective change management and challenging man day estimates on the cost of change as required with a view to keeping internal  recharge costs as low as possible.

The role is suited to candidates with a more experienced profile combining good business analysis skills, understanding of the asset management and / or securities services sectors, and with a strong background in performance, attribution and / or investment client reporting. You will be a confident communicator able to interact at multiple levels both internally and with external clients


Key Responsibilities


  • Act as the primary client contact on projects and change management for the Investment Reporting and Performance business line

  • "o-ordinate with project and change staff based in Paris, Chennai, Lisbon and Warsaw, as well as within a local client facing team in London to deliver change objectives

  • Ensure client billing for change is completed accurately and on time

  • Track project costs understanding actual cost vs client paid cost; ensure projects and change controls are complete on time and budget


Senior Business Analyst Duties 

  • Manage projects, change controls and / or new business implementations as allocated, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget and to the client's satisfaction

  • Take leadership/ownership on specialist subjects providing knowledge and support 

  • Demonstrate product awareness ensuring all requested changes are defined and implemented in a manner consistent within the BPSS product vision, meaning that they are efficient, optimised and commercially viable.

  • Mentor, coach and train business analysts, promoting the use of project principles, standards, and processes

  • Develop a strong understanding of the Investment Reporting & Performance organization and systems

  • Produce project plans and functional specifications

  • Demonstrate problem solving skills and techniques

  • Provide technical input to support accounting, performance, and reporting change events

  • Provide workflow and process analysis and be able to communicate the same to clients

  • Produce estimates, cost v benefits analysis and business cases for new development proposals

  • Manage the testing of new solutions including writing test plans, preparing test data, coordinating testing and user/client acceptance.

  • Provide clear, timely and accurate communication of the status of project work.

  • " Administer all project documentation in an efficient and effective manner

  • Work effectively with IT & Engineering developers to convert business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Work with service delivery analysts to make improvements to current production processes


Client Focused Duties 

  • Undertake project work to integrate new clients or extend services to existing clients.

  • Design and implement innovative solutions that meet the requirements of clients.

  • Demonstrate a professional and empathetic understanding of the needs of clients.

  • Provide clear and accurate information about the project deliverables and timeframes.

  • Ensure clients are informed about the project status on an appropriate reporting frequency.

  • Involve clients in relevant key decision making points throughout development life cycle.


Business Duties 

  • Deliver solutions that are aligned to business and client objectives

  • Manage priorities in accordance with the direction of management and agreed objectives.

  • Support the integration of change into service delivery environment and provide necessary support after go live

  • Develop market leading services and products aligned to the strategic objectives of BPSS.

  • Demonstrate contribution of project work to BPSS objectives


Skills & Experience


  • A background and proven track record working within a performance analysis and / or client reporting function delivering a regular monthly production cycle

  • Within current / previous role, a proven track record working on performance / client reporting related project work such as a new system implementation, new report development,  or business process re-engineering

  • Strong business analysis and project management skills developed through practical experience

  • Practical understanding of core performance methodologies & attribution methodologies

  • Practical understanding of ex-post risk statistics calculation (e.g. tracking errors, sharpe ratios, alpha, beta, volatility), and presentation of portfolio analytics and breakdowns for client reporting purposes (e.g. credit ratings, maturity breakdowns)

  • Including derivatives such as swaps, futures, and options, and a decent understanding of accounting operational processes

  • Strong Microsoft excel skills

  • Database query management using SQL is preferred

  • Competence using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint



  • Microsoft Excel VBA

  • C++ skills

  • Knowledge of Hi-port accounting systems would be advantageous, but not essential
