We are looking to hear from Business Development specialists, for a new and exciting role based in New York.

The company is a leading provider of research and analysis covering the global market for financial technology with a traditional focus on risk management systems. The goal is to support clients make informed technology and business decisions by providing in-depth analysis and actionable advice on the broad spectrum of risk technology offerings.


About The Role

The company are now looking for a high-calibre Business Development Manager for the their Research business. You will have strong commercial acumen and either experience working in a financial institution, management consultant or research organization. You will also have an entrepreneurial mind set, a strong motivation to drive commercial results and an international outlook. Moreover, you will have a good understanding of how technology is transforming the financial services sector.

Based in New York, the Business Development Manager for Research will own a sales target and be responsible for driving the business development agenda.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and achieve annual revenue targets: Determine the level of opportunities across your accounts and deliver growth objectives, with responsibility for accurate pipeline management and forecasting;

  • Spearhead business development: Promote and sell Research capabilities to asset managers, banks, insurers and vendors in the US and Europe. In this capacity, the objective is to drive sales, generate demand and maximize growth for research capabilities by growing subscriptions and advisory revenues;

  • Establish your understanding of the marketplace: Build a detailed understanding of markets and global accounts, including their business strategy, drivers, goals and initiatives and translating these into valuable marketing strategies;

  • Maintain senior level relationships with clients: Develop executive relationships with clients to become their trusted research provider.


Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in the financial services sector with a research provider, financial institution, a management consultancy or a vendor

  • Industry knowledge in one or more of the following areas is desirable: financial markets (derivatives & capital markets, risk management), insurance and financial technology

  • Experience leading sales planning and activity for global accounts including driving, coordinating and executing selling and relationship activities

  • Able to understand and drive solution selling across the organization; consulting sales experience is desirable

  • Must have acumen to understand clients, business strategies and problems, competitor solutions and prospective objections

  • Comfortable and able to engage credibly and build relationships with C-level management

  • A university degree is required
