About the Role
The Associate role will appeal to individuals who are entrepreneurial and want to take the next step in their career by joining a fast-growing strategic advisory firm. It will attract a candidate seeking to build on their existing commercial experience, establish a personal franchise and contribute to the development of a rapidly growing business.
The Associate will provide key support to the firm’s partners and will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of tasks in support of projects. These include carrying out research using a variety of research methods, collating and analysing data, drafting a variety of briefing materials and providing project management support. The Associate will gain rapid exposure to a wide range of mandates and develop confidence in establishing strong client relationships.
The successful candidate will have an outstanding academic record. They will be eager to engage with a client-centred business and will demonstrate a strong understanding of the commercial applications of strategic advice. Applicants must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to establish themselves in a small, close-knit team.
Research & Communication
Carry out research by utilising databases, the internet and other public domain tools
Collate and organise large volumes of data
Apply strong critical thinking and commercial judgement to the analysis of their research
Write precise, structured, and analytical prose that presents research findings in a coherent and organised manner
Communicate regularly with colleagues to inform project decision making and raise important findings in a timely and effective manner
Maintain accurate research records and provide project management support
Demonstrate a willingness to contribute to the development of the firm’s professional network
Be able to develop strong, effective relationships with external consultants
Support the business development activities and be pro-active in fostering relationships with potential clients
Assist in the scoping and assessment of forthcoming projects
Skills & Experience
Below lists the key skills, competencies and qualifications which applicants must meet to be considered for the Associate role:
Strong academic background. A Masters or equivalent higher degree preferable
2-3 years’ work experience in a relevant business environment (desirable)
Experience of researching and analysing large amounts of data.
Effective communication skills, including the ability to provide clear written and oral briefings to a range of different audiences
Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to convert data and information to produce PowerPoint presentations
Fluency in a relevant foreign language highly desirable, particularly Russian, Arabic or Mandarin
A strong interest in international business and politics
Awareness of sensitivities of working in a variety of cultural and political environments
