Head of Investment Risk for Sarasin & Partners
Specialist Asset Management business Sarasin & Partners hired us to help them find a Head of Investment Risk in Europe.
The challenge
Sarasin & Partners is a specialist asset management business in London with over £10bil AUM. Lawson Chase were engaged by the Head of Risk Management Office to help them to appoint a Head of Investment Risk – a newly created role. It was essential that the successful candidate would have strong, multi-asset experience, will have worked on a number of change initiatives and would be able to lead a function.
The solution
From an initial long-list of around twenty potential candidates, Lawson Chase narrowed the shortlist to five credible leaders within Investment Risk & Analytics. The preferred candidate had 20 years of directly relevant experience and was at the time, the Head of Investment Risk for BNP Paribas Asset Management. He’d previously worked within vendors in the investment risk space (and so had an expert understanding of systems and models) and had run hybrid investment risk & investment performance teams previously, experience that was highly prized for this hire.
