Head of Compliance & Risk - Ireland
Muzinich & Co were launching a new MiFID fund in Ireland. We were appointed to find a Head of Compliance & Risk for their new office.
The challenge
Muzinich & Co is an international Investment Management firm, specialising in Corporate Credit funds. In 2018 the business decided to launch a new fund/office in Ireland and enlisted Lawson Chase to deliver a Head of Compliance & Risk who had experience in fulfilling approved person roles with the Irish financial regulator (the Central Bank of Ireland).
The solution
Lawson Chase undertook a comprehensive research project to map out Investment Management business in Ireland that had already developed leadership groups within Corporate Governance. This was a challenging time to recruit a Head of Compliance & Risk as several Investment Management firms were launching Irish operations simultaneously and candidates were often in receipt of multiple approaches from other businesses. Our preferred candidate had spent nearly six years within one of the leading asset management firms (BlackRock) and had been recommended by more than one trusted contact within the local market.
